1. General information
MFP is the final step of the master's program. Its successful completion certifies that the student has acquired all the contents and competencies included in the master. Student is able to competently and contrastedly handle concepts, methods and essential application techniques in advanced studies and research in the teaching of SFL as well as other learning results that are listed in the following section. This is a specific academic work that can be carried out in the form of a research project or fieldwork report. The student must draw up a a written report and defend it in front of a board of examiners.
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following SDGs of the United Nations 2030 Agenda (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/): 4, 5, 10, 16 and 17. An advanced mastery of the Spanish language is required to take the course (non-native students must have a B2 level of Spanish).
2. Learning results
Upon completion of the project the student will be able to:
-reason and reach plausible and convincing conclusions through reading and scientific argumentation.
-rigorously arrange and develop academic work and projects, as well as present them orally or in writing.
-manage the essential conventions for the writing and presentation of academic papers in terms of citation, authorship and data presentation.
-articulate the results of their research and reasoning in a coherent and effective manner.
-manage the scientific method and the academic procedures.
-undertake research in an autonomous and efficient manner.
3. Syllabus
The MFP may address any of the subjects of the master's program: grammatical problems in the teaching-learning of SFL, ICT in the SFL classroom, application of pragmatics to SFL teaching and to the analysis of intercultural communication, selection of linguistic resources for the teaching of specialized languages, diatopic and social variation in the SFL classroom, assessment of the competences needed to use language, literature and cinema as didactic resources, analysis and preparation of materials that reflect Hispanic social and cultural aspects, among others.
4. Academic activities

The master's coordinator will inform the students about the relevant aspects for the preparation of the MFP: regulations, assignment of tutors, defense schedule, etc. Students will be provided with a document prepared by the master's Quality Assessment Committee including detailed recommendations on the formal aspects of the MFP.
5. Assessment system

Public defense of the MFP in front of a examiners`board (on the date established in the academic calendar): a) Written presentation of the MFP (80% of the grade). b) Oral presentation of the MFP: presentation with a maximum duration of 20 minutes and public defense (20% of the grade).
Second call
Identical to the first call.
The public defense of the MFP will be performed in accordance with the Regulations for the DFP and MFP of the University of Zaragoza [agreement of 11/09/2014 of the Consejo de Gobierno (Governing Council), modified by agreement of 16/03/2018] and to the Regulations for the DFP and MFP of the university degrees taught in the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters [agreement of the Junta de Facultad (Faculty Board) of 04/03/2015]. Art. 7 of these Regulations specifies the general criteria that the board must apply for the assessment and grading of the project: the quality of the structure and contents, the proven capacity to propose hypotheses and use the appropriate methodologies as well as the critical capacity, the idiomatic correction (and adaptation to academic language), the quality of the oral presentation and, in general, the level of achievement of the competencies of the master; it also includes some warnings against plagiarism that must be taken into account.
